Jesus Christ, according to the Scriptures and the doctrine of the Catholic Church, is the Son of God and the Second Person of the Holy Trinity. He is true God and true man, assuming the human condition to redeem humanity. The Gospel of John states: "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us" (Jn 1:14), showing that God became present in the world in human form, living and experiencing the difficulties and joys of our lives.
Jesus lived to reveal the love and mercy of the Father. He healed, forgave, and taught the way of truth, being the Savior and Redeemer who, by offering His life on the cross, accomplished the unique sacrifice capable of atoning for the sins of humanity. Saint Paul, in Philippians 2:6-8, describes this offering as an act of extreme humility and obedience, in which Jesus, being God, “emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant”.
His ministry included a special dedication to the poor and needy, offering them health and hope, and demonstrating that love for God and neighbor are the greatest commandments. Jesus is also seen as the founder of the Church, leaving the apostles the mission to continue His work and promising to be with them until the end of times (Mt 28:20).
In John 14:6, Jesus says: "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life." This declaration expresses that He is the only mediator between God and men and that, through Him, it is possible to attain salvation and eternal life. His life and sacrifice not only illuminate the relationship between God and humanity but also guide the Church, His Mystical Body on earth, to live in love and faithfulness.
Therefore, Jesus is not just a religious leader or moral teacher; He is the Son of God made man, the essence of divine love, and the foundation of salvation. His life, death, and resurrection are central to the Christian faith, revealing the fullness of the relationship between God and men.
The Mystery of the Incarnation

The Redeeming Sacrifice of Jesus

Way, Truth, and Life
Jesus states: "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life" (John 14,6), distinguishing Himself as the mediator between God and men. Through His life, He leads us to salvation and shows that love for God and neighbor is the center of His message.
